A BOPT works the tightest aisles in the building, carrying the most valuable pallets. There is very little margin between a clean pass and a damaged rack.

Pedestrians in the same aisle
Unlike a caged forklift lane, BOPT routes run where people walk. Judgement around pedestrians is the hardest thing to teach safely.
